Managing Partner and Co-Founder
Rod Atamian is the co-founder and managing partner of City Sunstone Properties, established in 2012.
From 2001 through 2012, Mr. Atamian served as Executive Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of Golden Gaming, Inc. Mr. Atamian held privileged non-restricted gaming licenses in the states of Nevada and Colorado and in the local jurisdictions where Golden Gaming and its affiliated companies conducted business. In his role at Golden Gaming, Mr. Atamian was a key officer, primarily responsible for oversight of the company’s legal, development, and governmental affairs. From 2001 until October 2007, Mr. Atamian served as Chief Financial Officer for Golden Gaming, responsible for directing and overseeing all accounting, compliance, and financial activities including capital allocation, strategic planning, and banking relationships.
In addition to his duties with Golden Gaming, Mr. Atamian served as Chief Investment Officer of Sartini Enterprises, responsible for directing and overseeing the investment activities of this family office and its affiliates including the allocation of funds utilized in various investment strategies and financing for these entities.
Prior to joining Golden Gaming in 2001, Mr. Atamian held several corporate finance positions at Station Casinos, Inc. He provided analysis and strategic direction for mergers and acquisitions, new development, project feasibility and deal restructuring. As Vice President of Financial Services from April 1997 through September 2001, Mr. Atamian spearheaded investor relations and performed a variety of corporate finance and communications functions. During Mr. Atamian’s tenure with Station, the company raised more than one billion dollars in the public markets and became one of the most widely followed companies in the gaming industry. Mr. Atamian began his professional career as a Research Associate at Volpe, Welty & Co. in San Francisco, CA. He worked directly with a senior analyst/partner specializing in the casino gaming and interactive entertainment software industries.
Mr. Atamian has served on the Bond Oversight Committee for the Clark County Unified School District in Nevada and is a board member and advisor to Global Brigades, Inc. Prior to the start of his professional career, he held several positions in California Governor George Deukmejian’s administration between 1988 and 1990 and served as a Member on the California State Board of Education in 1986-87. Mr. Atamian is a graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. in Public Policy. He is married with two daughters and has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1993.
